To continue our duty of care in flight operations and all activities run by the Wellington Aero Club, we are observing the Covid-19 âtraffic lightâ system as developed by the New Zealand Government and as outlined by the CAA.
From 23:59 on the 13th of April New Zealand has moved to âLife at Orangeâ.
At Orange, there will be community transmission of COVID-19, with increasing risks to vulnerable communities, and pressure on the health system.
The following information applies to
- all staff
- club members
- members of the public (including those taking a trial flight)
- and lessees (aircraft hangarage and sub-tenants)
… from 23:59 Wednesday 13th April 2022 —WAC requests that you review and observe the following information where applicable
Iâm Safe to Fly
If youâre intending to visit the club or fly and are feeling unwell, please reschedule your visit or rebook your flight for a time when youâre feeling better. Please be aware that if you are displaying any symptoms when you arrive at the club, you will not be permitted to fly.
QR Codes
Staff, lessees, visitors and members are no longer required to register their visit by using QR codes when visiting the club building, including offices and hangar spaces.
Face Masks
Staff, lessees, visitors and club members should wear masks in the club rooms, hangar space and aircraft. An exception to this rule is for the Pilot in Command (PIC). The PIC is not required to wear a mask in aircraft as this will ensure clearer communication for all radio calls.
Vaccine Status
Staff, lessees, visitors and members are no longer required to show their Vaccine Pass to enter the club building or club aircraft.
We strongly encourage all members and visitors to advise the Aero club staff if you are not vaccinated. This will allow for the appropriate precautionary measures to be put in place to protect those who may be vulnerable and will be handled on a case by case basis.
As usual — don't travel if you don't feel well! — if you have a flight booked with us, help keep our instructors, members, students, pilots and passengers healthy, give us a call and weâll happily rebook your flight or lesson.
Letâs Fly Wellington
If you have any further questions, please sing out — by call, email or use our contact form.
We look forward to seeing you at the club. If itâs training youâre looking for — book a trial flight now! Current members should book their next flight with us on Paper Aviator! We hope to see you for a fly soon.
Nga mihi nui,
The WAC team
